The Philippine Natiional Police deployed additional personnel from five regions around Metro Manila to beef up security during Labor Day on May 1.
Some 1,000 additional police personnel will be fielded. The Metro Manila police are expected to be busy with traffic management, security operations, and civil disturbance management during Labor Day. Labor groups will start Labor Day-related activities with a vigil on Tuesday, the eve of Labor Day.
According to GMA News, among the activities on Wednesday will be a rally starting at Welcome Rotunda and a march to Mendiola.
