First: A massive thank you to Accenture. The management consulting, tech services, and oursourcing company has announced more than USD 2million donation, in cash and kind, for relief and reconstruction efforts following Typhoon Yolanda.
Apart from the USD600,000 that Accenture employees have raised worldwide, which they donated to the Philippine Red Cross, Accenture focuses its efforts in rebuilding commmunities via skills development, economic activities, and job training. Accenture Foundation will donate USD1 million as support to the long-term reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts, to enable communities to rebuild via skills training and economic activity. The Accenture Development Partnerships, meanwhile will deliver pro-bono consulting services to Plan International during the reconstruction phase so that people are trained good and trained better to become valuable members of the job force.
Awesome, too, to hear that Accenture Philippines is helping their employees help Yolanda victims by offering paid volunteering time to support relief operations.
