Who knew a child would set a mood for disgruntled workers and “quiet quitters” everywhere?

The return of face-to-face classes across the Philippines has not been easy for some — like this five-year-old kindergarten pupil who apparently decided he wasn’t feeling academically inclined and decided to walk straight back home minutes after entering the classroom.

In a viral TikTok video posted earlier this week, kindergarten teacher Lyca Joy Alvera of Caramoan Elementary School hops aboard a motorcycle scooter to haplessly chase the “energetic” kid, who is seen happily sauntering down the road and not giving mind to the adult trailing him.

In an interview with GMA News, Alvera shared that she follower her student for about 300 meters but failed to convince the child to return to class.

Alvera said she decided to chase after the child as she was worried about his safety.

In the end, she decided to accompany the pupil back home. She also did not scold the child for leaving school.

“It is important to make the children feel heard, that it is not scary to go to school, and that the teachers understand their feelings. This way, you can encourage them to go to school and study,” the teacher said in Filipino.

A mood, TBH.
