Ferdinand Marcos has been arrested — but probably not the one you’re thinking of.
A 23-year-old British-Filipino tourist — who happens to share the name of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr. and his son, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. — was arrested by authorities at a bar in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig at 3:20am on Sunday.
Police said that the tourist was apprehended for acts of lasciviousness after allegedly harassing three club-goers. Marcos allegedly kissed a 19-year-old without her consent, groped the breast of another 19-year-old while dancing, and invited a 23-year-old to have sex with him.
The women reported the incident to the police, which resulted in Marcos’ immediate arrest.
Acts of lasciviousness is defined under the Article 336 of the Revised Penal Code, as the “intentional touching, either directly or through clothing, of the genitalia…of any person, whether of the same or opposite sex…with an intent to abuse, humiliate, harass, degrade, or arouse the sexual desire of any person.”
