Anyone who says kids being mean to other kids is “normal,” better read this story.

A nine –year-old boy who allegedly suffered from the hands of his classmates has died after fighting for his life for almost a month.

“After almost a month of fighting for his life at the Philippine Children’s Medical Center, Fred Aston Mendoza, a 9-year-old Grade 4 pupil from Tañong Unit 1 Elementary School in Malabon, died after suffering from internal bleeding in his liver which resulted in serious complications,” reports ABS-CBNNews.com.

The boy sustained injuries last month after two of his schoolmates reportedly ganged up on him and beat him up. His mother, Vilma, revealed that Fred had told her that the two boys—one aged nine and the other aged 11—went after him and took off his clothes before they punched and kicked him.

Fred’s family is now appealing for help as they are facing problems settling the PHP700,000 hospital bill. The family says they also want to pursue a case against those who bullied Fred.
