Nine high-ranking police officials in Metro Manila misdeclared crime statistics in their areas of jurisdiction by as much as 60 percent, according to a news report. The Philippine Star reports that an internal investigation of the Philippine National Police discovered the irregularity through its Directorate of Investigation and Detective Management.
Police Director Don Montenegro identified the police officials as Senior Superintendents Rodolfo Llorca (Pasay), Joselito Daniel (San Juan), Ariel Andrade (Paranaque), Art Asis (Taguig) and Florendo Quibuyen (Mandaluyong). The five are police chiefs in the cities mentioned.
Station commanders Supt. Santiago Pascual of Manila Police Station 4; Manila Police Station 9 commander Supt. Manam Muarip; Quezon City Police Station 7 commander Supt. Ramon Pranada and Station 10 commander Supt. Limuel Obon were likewise named. The mayors who have direct supervision over the police officials have been informed on the outcome of the investigation.
