They didn’t want to line up, so they lost the money meant for their tuition fee. The thing is, they didn’t find out they had been robbed until it was too late.
“Nine Marine Engineering students of the Our Lady of Fatima University in Valenzuela City lost around PHP300,000 after they got fooled by a former classmate who offered to queue for them at the cashier to pay their tuition,” reports ABS-CBN News correspondent Doland Castro on ABS-CBNnews.com.
According to the nine victims, Victor Zaragoza, Jr., 22, offered to save them the trouble of lining up. He volunteered to pay their tuition for them. So, they entrusted their money to him.
When classes started, the nine students went to school thinking everything was fine. That’s when they found out that Zaragoza didn’t actually pay their tuition.
The students, together with their parents, have filed a complaint against Zaragoza, who confessed that he used the money for online gambling.
The school is also investigating the incident.
