Police are still searching for a man and a woman who are the primse suspects in the robbery and murder of 86-year-old of Isidro Perez, whose body was found inside a room at the Sunrise Lagro apartelle on Quirino Highway, Barangay Pasong Putik in Fairview, Quezon City last Jul 11.
“The Perez, a widower and resident of Barangay Sto. Cristo, Quezon Cityt was found at 8:20 a.m. He had been stabbed to death and the knife remained stuck in his neck,” reports Inquirer.net.
The report noted: “According to the report of case investigator SPO1 Joselito Gagaza of the Quezon City Police District’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit, witnesses said that minutes after Perez and his female companion checked into the motel shortly after 5 a.m., a man claiming to be his son barged into the establishment and demanded to know which room the couple were in. The motel staff said they gave him the information after he agreed to pay the ‘extra person’ rate.”
Then, at around 6am, Perez’s female companion — who was later identified as “Isidra Cervas” — stepped out of the room and said she was going out to buy some food. The unidentified man — who was later identified only as “Jomari” — who had claimed to be Perez’s son also left the establishment after a few minutes. However, the man went back into the room and was seen carrying some things when he went out.
A follow-up report by ABS-CBN News’ TV Patrol revealed that the suspects had been seen on CCTV. It was also discovered that they had stolen around PHP200,000 in cash, as well as jewelry, from Perez.
