8 anti-DAP lawmakers walk out before PNoy could start SONA speech

They weren’t in the mood to clap.

“At least eight representatives from the Makabayan bloc in Congress, mostly consisting of leftist party-list groups, walked out even before President Noynoy Aquino started his fifh State of the Nation Address (SONA),” reports ABS-CBN News correspondent Ron Gagalac on ABS-CBNnews.com.

The group probably didn’t like the fact that Aquino once again insisted that the Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP) was legit. “Ito po ang mabuting pamamahala: May tamang intensyon, pamamaraan, at resulta. Lahat panalo (This is good governance: The intention, execution, and result are all right. Everybody wins).”

The lawmakers, who were all wearing peach colored dresses or barongs, were led by Bayan Muna party-list Rep. Neri Colmenares. They had recently endorsed the impeachment complaint against the President in connection with the DAP.

They lawmakers said they are “tired of hearing lies” from the President and they want him “to be held liable for allegedly blatantly violating the Constitution.”
