As much as we’d like to applaud this senior citizen, we’re even more relieved that she wasn’t harmed.
“A 73-year-old woman Corazon Macaso was walking along Garcia Street in Barangay San Agustin, Malabon City at around 7:30am on Sunday, February 22, when a robber blocked her path and demanded at knifepoint that she give him her bag, which contained PHP6,100,” reports Rey Galupo in The Philippine Star.
The robber — who was later identified as Joseph Montes — snatched Macaso’s bag and tried to run. However, much to his shock, Macaso held onto her bag and started shouting.
Thus, barangay watchmen and local police were alerted. They immediately cornered Montes, who was carrying a knife and a sachet of shabu.
