70yo climbs Mt Halcon in Mindoro

Maybe ageing is something to look forward to after all.

Henry Tan, 70 years old, just conquered Mount Halcon, one of the hardest Philippines mountains to climb. The businessman accomplished the feat during a climb from April 17 to April 20 organized by the Halcon Mountaineers.

The group was composed of a variety of climbers, one as young as 12, but most in their early 40s.

And then there was Henry.

“We were surprised that he kept up with the pacing of the group even though you can see some signs of aging body and knee,” reports Jommell E. Romero in Philippine Daily Inquirer.

Of course, Henry didn’t just turn off the TV remote control and went up Halcon. The septuagenarian bikes, hikes, runs, and spelunks.

Time to get moving.
