This definitely isn’t child’s play.
“On Monday morning, May 12, a seven-year-old boy and his parents ended up at the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Women and Children’s Protection Desk at Camp Karingal in Quezon City after the boy stabbed his playmate, a six-year-old girl, with a barbecue stick,” reports Reinir Padua in The Philippine Star.
The incident happened at around 8am. It began when the two kids were playing on the street. The boy had been on all fours and the girl allegedly kept pinching and taunting him.
The report then revealed that “the boy, apparently irked by the girl’s repeated taunts, grabbed a barbecue stick lying on the ground with his left hand.” Then, without looking, the boy jabbed the stick at the girl, who was standing behind him.
According to Police Officer 2 Alvin Quisumbing said the stick pierced the girl’s bladder. She was rushed to the Novaliches General Hospital, where she died minutes later.
