7 out of 10 fake bomb threats happen during exam week

But didn’t everyone already know this?

“After a fake bomb scare disrupted the preliminary exams week of Far Eastern University (FEU) on Thursday morning, July 31, Manila Police District (MPD) bomb squad Chief Inspector Arnold Santos revealed that seven out of 10 fake bomb scares that rocked the city of Manila this year came from universities and colleges during the exam week,” reports Aie Balagtas See in The Philippine Star

Santos theorized that “naughty students” initiate these bomb hoaxes to get away from exams, as schools are forced to suspend classes to allow the bomb squad to check the whole building and sometimes the whole school complex.

It’s easy enough for these misguided students to hatch these bomb hoaxes—as most (if not all) threats are sent via text.
