Seven dead bodies were found in separate locations in San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan (roughly two hours away from Manila), on Fri, Aug 26.
According to an ABS-CBN News report, authorities discovered the bodies on Friday night in Tungkong Mangga, Muzon and Graceville village.
The victims — six men and a woman — were “hogtied and their heads were wrapped in packaging tape.” A cardboard sign was found near the bodies, saying the slain was involved in illegal drugs.
The identities of the victims were not released, but some of the bodies have been claimed by relatives. They said the victims were forcibly taken from their homes by “unidentified men on board a van.”
Law enforcers have launched an investigation and identified possible suspects.
This so-called “cardboard justice” has been a trademark of the spate of summary executions and extrajudicial killings around the country in relation to the government’s war on drugs.
