At least 63,000 commuters taking the Light Rail Transit (LRT) enjoyed free rides this morning. The LRT, including the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) is offering this service as part of the Independence Day celebrations.
In a GMA News report, LRTA spokesman Hernando Cabrera disclosed that a total of 63,205 riders took advantage of the first two hours of free rides ( 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.) on the Light Rail Transit’s Lines 1 and 2. He stressed that services will also be free for LRT and MRT passengers taking the trains between 5 and 7 p.m.
