6-year-old boy rushed to hospital after being bullied by 11-year-old neighbor

What the heck is it with kids these days?

Another disturbing bullying incident in Brgy. Tañong, Malabon City made it to the news. A six-year-old boy identified only as “Caloy” was rushed to the hospital after his 11-year-old neighbor hit him in the face with a softdrink bottle.

In ABS-CBN’s evening news show Bandila, Gus Abelgas reported that the kids’ altercation began when the 11-year-old poured the contents of the softdrink bottle on Caloy. When Caloy cried out, that was when the bully brought the bottle down on his face. Caloy got cuts on his face and had to get stitches.

The boys’ parents ended up at the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s Malabon office.

An even more brutal bullying incident happened in the same neighborhood last Wednesday, Oct 16. Nine-year-old Fred Aston Mendoza, a student of Tañong Elementary School was beaten up by two boys, aged nine and 11, during the recess period. Mendoza is now in the hospital and in critical condition due to internal bleeding.

Perhaps Taguig’s plan of putting CCTV cameras in schools to prevent bullying sounds like a good idea.
