Let’s hope they’re out of the police force for good and not just “reassigned.”
“Six policemen were relieved from their duties after they allegedly abducted and tried to extort money from a man in Las Piñas City last month,” reports Mitch Arceo in Tempo.
The sacked cops were identified as SPO4 John Miranda, SPO2 Jerry Fernandez, SPO2 Jay de Guzman, SPO1 Sabbon, PO3 Gil Anos, and PO3 Hernan Pua.
Here’s the crazy part: They all belonged to the Pasay Police’s Anti-Crime Follow-Up Unit.
According to Senior Supt. Adolfo Samala Jr., chief of the Las Piñas police, they learned about the incident from the National Press Club (NPC).
Apparently, the victim had gone to the NPC office in Manila and related his ordeal to NPC vice president Benny Antiporda.”
