One by one, suspects in the killing of advertising executive Kristelle Davantes is falling. The fifth suspect in the case turned himself into authorities on Wednesday, a day after the fourth suspect surrendered to the police, according to an official spearheading the investigation. Kelvin Jorek Evangelista yielded to police after his father’s prodding, said Chief Supt. Christopher Laxa, deputy director of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO). Authorities caught up with Evangelista in Cabanatuan, where the suspect intended to travel to Aurora by bus and hide there, Laxa said. His father had been instrumental in the surrender, pleading with his son to yield to authorities, the official added. Only Baser Minalang remains at large as the five suspects are under government custody. On Tuesday, police filed charges of car theft and robbery with homicide against the six suspects. MM
