My, oh my. Evil does rear its ugly head everywhere.
Yesterday, we wrote about that guy with what looks like herpes zoster who allegedly stole cellphones from Yolanda volunteers and — busted — took selfie photos which were synced to one of the victims’ Dropbox account. He’s still at large, so do share this post.
Today, our report is about five persons who allegedly tried taking a stash of relief goods for victims.
“Five suspected thieves were arrested over the weekend after allegedly stealing relief goods intended for victims of super typhoon Yolanda at Villamor Air Base in Pasay City,” reports Mitch Arceo of Manila Bulletin.
Police identified the suspects as Remar Saringan, 40; Reynaldo Fontanilla, 56; Larcy Fontanilla, 36; Percival Nuez, 47; and Adelaida Esteves, 35. A sixth suspect, Saldy Nuez, 52, managed to escape.
Investigators said a military officer noticed that Saringan, who was distributing relief packs to typhoon victims, was keeping other relief bags hidden inside another sack and two garbage bags.
