Forty-five people were injured when the bus they were riding slammed into an electrical post in Atok, Benguet yesterday.

Authorities said that Regan Ginoban, the driver of the Rising Sun bus with plate number WZO528, lost control of the vehicle, which caused it to crash into an electrical post in Barangay (Village) Caliking, The Philippine Daily Inquirer reported.

Injured passengers were rushed to the Benguet General Hospital for treatment, ABS-CBN News reported.

Ginoban is now under investigation.

The incident caused an almost 10-hour blackout in areas serviced by the Benguet Electric Cooperative Inc., Radyo Inquirer reported. The blackout started around 4:44pm and the power was only brought back at 2:37am today.
