413 smuggled Casio G-Shock watches seized by Customs

This is a perverse testimony to the popularity of these watches.

“The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has intercepted 413 smuggled Casio G-Shock watches concealed in six balikbayan boxes that arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA),” reports Raymund F. Antonio in Manila Bulletin.

The report said that “the imported watches came from Dubai via cargo carrier FOREX and FILEX Cargo and have a total value of PHP4 million.”

The senders of these balikbayan boxes were identified by the BOC as Jeffrey Valencia, Peter Paul Bayani, Winly Dael Duran, Blessie Jao, and Leland Marquez.

The report noted that the G-Shock watches were consigned to Jennifer Valencia, Edward Ochave, Clarisse Karingal, Genevieve Ochave, and Edmund Discutido.
