Four Korean nationals who allegedly ran a website offering sex tour packages were nabbed in an entrapment operation in Cebu City.
National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Assistant Regional Director Atty. Augusto Eric Isidoro said Koreans Ji Wongun, Jeung Gangil, Lee Dong Jun, and Kim Jung Hyun were arrested in a hotel after the NBI received a complaint from a female victim of the suspects.
According to the NBI’s investigation, the Koreans ran a website that offered sex tour packages in Cebu.
The NBI obtained marked money from the suspects.
Authorities also obtained pieces of evidence such as desktop computers, cellphones, identification cards, and documents from a condominium unit occupied by the Koreans.
NBI agents also confirmed that the Koreans offered them PHP2 million in exchange for their freedom.
They said that a certain PO1 Kelvin Tualdes claiming to be the bodyguard of one of the Koreans asked them to set the suspects free.
The NBI said a certain ”Peter Lim” may have been involved in the illegal activities of the Koreans.
The four are currently detained in an NBI cell in Cebu. Charges will be filed against them on Monday. —from report from Mary Ann Uy, ABS-CBN Central Visayas
