On Sat morning, Dec 10, four people died after a truck rammed into a van that was plying the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX).
“The passengers of the van were from Taguig City and were headed to Baguio for a vacation,” reports ABS-CBN News.
Aside from the four who died, eight others, including the van’s driver, were injured and were brought to hospitals in Rosales, Pangasinan.
Witnesses said that the van “turned turtle after it was hit by the truck from behind.”
The truck driver claimed that both vehicles were running along the Anao, Tarlac portion of TPLEX. Then, he alleged that the van suddenly reduced speed.
The investigation is ongoing. However, police have confirmed that the truck driver was not intoxicated.
