This is complicated.
“During the wreath-laying ceremonies held at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) to mark the 31st death anniversary of the President’s father, former Senator Butz Aquino indicated that more members of the Aquino clan support Binay’s bid for the presidency in 2016,” reports ANC.
The report said that the former senator had addressed Binay, saying, “Balita ko suportado ka raw ng sisters. Hindi lang mga sisters, pati uncles.”
The former Senator then named himself, his brother Paul, and Jose “Peping” Cojuangco Jr. as the pro-Binay uncles.
Butz and Paul Aquino are brothers of the late Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. while Cojuangco is the brother of the late President Corazon Aquino.
Recently, the President’s sisters, Kris and Ballsy, said they have nothing against the possible “adoption” of Binay as the standard-bearer of the administration’s Liberal Party (LP) in the 2016 elections.
However, the President himself said that his sisters didn’t exactly support Binay. He said they would back whoever continues what he has started.
