3 hurt as safety canopy collapses in BGC

The safety measure proved to be dangerous.

“On Saturday, Nov 23, construction workers Cet Guinalayo, Jay-ar Buising, and Ryan Samanillo were hurt after a building’s safety canopy collapsed in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com. The three injured men were taken to St. Luke’s Medical Center.

The safety canopy, which is also referred to as an “overhead road protector,” was installed in between two buildings somewhere near 30th Street and 3rd Avenue. Just like all other safety canopies, its purpose was to protect people from debris. But, at around 130 pm on that particular day, it was the very definition of irony.
