3 carjackers arrested in Antipolo

Carjackers make deals out of town, so to speak.

“On Wednesday evening, June 18, operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and the Antipolo Police set up an entrapment operation against three men who were trying to sell a stolen car for PHP450,000,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.

The carjackers were identified as Joseph Colalco, Marcial Tagal, and Ronald Rocha. They had been waiting with the stolen vehicle at a gasoline station along Marcos Highway.

According to the report, “the suspects exchanged fire with the police after they learned that they were being set up.”

Rocha was injured in the gunfight, while Colalco and Tagal are now under police custody.

The report added that “Police discovered a .38-caliber pistol and a grenade inside the car, which was also hit by bullets at the height of the gunfight.”

The owner of the stolen car is now being traced.
