Two words: Red alert.
“About 266 Moro National Liberation Front rebels loyal to founding chairman Nur Misuari and involved in the Zamboanga City siege are now at the Quezon City Jail Annex in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.
The report also revealed that the MNLF rebels left San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm in Zamboanga City via a Philippine Navy boat on Friday, Dec 27. They arrived at Sangley Point in Cavite at around 8pm on Sunday, Dec 29, and were brought straight to the Taguig jail. They are now detained at Camp Bagong Diwa’s newly built Special Intensive Care Area (SICA) 2, a four-storey building which can house up to 300 detainees.
The MNLF rebels are in Manila because the Department of Justice (DOJ) requested their transfer in preparation for their trial. They face charges for rebellion and the violation of international humanitarian laws.
