The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has been busy.
“On Thursday, Jan 16, immigration authorities caught 25 foreign nationals who are engaged in the illegal retail trade in Baclaran, Paranaque City,” reports Jun Ramirez in the Manila Bulletin.
The BI made the mass arrest after they received “confidential information” that many foreign nationals were into retail business in the area. Under Philippine law, foreign nationals are not allowed to engage in retail business.
In any case, the BI in the past had already “gotten several complaints against illegal aliens who buy and sell at the Baclaran shopping mall.”
