A charging cellphone was named the culprit in the tragic death of a 23-year-old father from Puerto Princesa, Palawan last week.

Rolan Beharang allegedly died from lethal electric shock when he used his mobile device while it was plugged into a wall socket and charging on Thur, Feb 23, reports ABS-CBN News.

According to the victim’s wife Christine, she heard him scream upon touching his cellphone’s charger.

“Gang, I was electrocuted,” Ronald was able to say before collapsing into the floor. Christine noted that his cellphone screen was broken.

Christine immediately asked for help after Ronald was electrocuted, but medical personnel was unable to save him.

A family friend complained about the slow response of the Kilos Agad Action Center during the emergency. Christine called 11 times, but no one answered.

Puerto Princesa police authorities confirmed that electrocution caused Beharang’s death.
