A total of 23 juvenile offenders, all males between the ages of 13 and 18 years old, escaped from the Yakap Bata Holding Center in Caloocan City.
The center is a holding cell for minors caught for various offenses. Since 2011, this has been the second incident of an escape from the rehabilitition center. Currently, the center is in the midst of moving the offices and detention areas from the building’s second floor to the third floor, Inquirer News reported.
