People are willing to commit crimes for chump change these days. What worse is that the pepetrators in this case are minors.

“On Tuesday, April 8, two teenage boys, aged 16 and 17, were arrested for attempting to kill an Australian man over pedicab fare, reports Aie Balagtas See in The Philippine Star.

What happened was Bryan Paul Curleg and his wife reportedly hired the boys in Malate, Manila. They asked to be brought to a barbershop on United Nations Avenue for PHP40. However, when they got to the barbershop, the boys started demanding P140.

At some point, the boys brought out makeshift knives. Curleg ran when one of the boys lunged at him with the weapon. Barangay watchman Norberto Agaajo saw what happened and chased the boys. He caught them and then brought them to the Manila Police District (MPD) headquarters.

The report said the boys will be charged with grave threats before the city prosecutor’s office.
