2 Taguig women arrested for selling shabu, using kids as couriers

Some adults should not be around kids.

Two women who allegedly use minors as couriers in selling shabu were arrested in separate operations conducted by operatives of the Southern Police District Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (SPD-AIDSOTG) over the weekend in Sitio Imelda, Upper Bicutan, Taguig City.

One woman was arrested with her underage nephew and the other one was nabbed with two kids.

“Senior Insp. Dennis Sirilan, chief of SPDAID-SOTG, said the operation was launched following a tip from an informant that another drug transaction would take place with the suspects using the minors as couriers,” reports Jeffrey C. Tiangco on Journal Online.

Some 15 grams of shabu were recovered from one woman, while 25 grams was seized from the other.

The report noted that both suspects have been charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and for child abuse. The three minors were turned over to Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
