2 rookie cops in trouble for posing as BIR inspectors

Tell us this wasn’t part of an initiation!

“Two rookie cops are in hot water for allegedly posing as inspectors of the Bureau of Internal Revenue in order to harass officers and employees of a call center company in Makati City,” reports Alfred Dalizon in People’s Journal.

Police Officers 1 Jonker Durias and Ronnel Carcalas were accused of harassing employees of New Wave Offices Inc in October.

In the complaint, Durias and Carcalas went to the company’s office and introduced themselves as BIR inspectors. They asked for documents and related permits for inspection as they were conducting an investigation, but the employees asked for identification first.

The two were evasive and later on forced to admit they were police officers.

The suspects left when they learned that responding officers from the Makati Police were on their way.

A check with police records showed the suspects were still undergoing training with the Philippine National Police’s Maritime Group.
