Two Filipino workers were killed in an explosion in two neighboring restaurants in Abu Dhabi, the Department of Foreign Affairs announced yesterday in a statement.
“Ambassador Hjayceelyn M. Quintana has reached out to the families of the deceased to express condolences and to give assurance that they will be provided all necessary assistance,” the statement said.

The Embassy said that it is working with the Abu Dhabi government to obtain the details of injured Filipinos who were brought to the hospital for treatment.
The restaurants were located in the city’s Sheikh Rashid Bin Seed Road, also known as Airport Road. The explosion occurred on Monday, injuring an undetermined number of people. Residents in the area were evacuated by the authorities.
