Two Filipinas were among the nine people killed when gunmen stormed a luxury hotel in Tripoli, Libya, on January 27, according to Agence-France Press.
“An American, a French citizen, a South Korean and two Filipinas were the five foreigner,” says the report.
Gunmen set off a car bomb outside the Corinthia Hotel, popular with diplomats and officials, then rushed inside and opened fire.
The Islamic State group has claimed the attack.
“The dead included three security guards killed in the initial attack, five foreigners shot dead by the gunmen and a hostage who died when the attackers blew themselves up,” says Agence-France Press.
“At least five people were also wounded, including two Filipina employees hurt by broken glass from the car bomb,” it adds.
