2 Pasay City schools suspend classes due to cracks on buildings

We give them an “A” for foresight.

“Two buildings each in Villamor Air Base Elementary School and Pasay City South High School were found to have cracks, prompting school administrators to close them down temporarily,” reports dzMM correspondent Dennis Datu on ABS-CBNnews.com.

In Villamor Air Base Elementary School, two five-storey buildings that were built in 2007 were found to have cracks. The buildings house 31 classrooms each.

Meanwhile, in Pasay City South High School, two three-storey buildings were also found to have cracks.

For now, the principals of both schools said learning materials will be provided to students “so they could still continue with their studies at home.”

Makeshift classrooms are currently being built to cater the affected students. They are expected to up in 20 days. The report revealed that “classes will be held in these temporary structures while rehabilitation works on the four buildings are being carried out.”
