What happens when the news anchor becomes part of the news?
CCTV footage reveals that at around 2am on Fri, Aug 28, two men shot at the newly-opened Ka Tunying’s Cafe at 88 Visayas Avenue in Quezon City. The establishment is owned by ABS-CBN news anchor Anthony Taberna.
“CCTV footage showed two of four men getting down from their motorcycles, drawing their guns, and then strafing the cafe. Authorities recovered 15 bullet shells for caliber .45 pistols,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.
The report noted that “based on initial investigation, the suspects even asked a security guard from a nearby establishment if he is armed before firing the shots.” Outnumbered, the security guard ran and hid inside the cafe as bullets rained.
Ka Tunying’s Cafe has only been open for a week. Authorities say they think the shooting “has something to do with business.” The investigation is still ongoing, though. It’s worth noting that despite what happened, it’s business as usual at Ka Tunying’s Cafe. (from a report by Johnson Manabat, dzMM)
