And by that, we mean, they robbed bus passengers at around 7am on Tuesday, June 24.
“Police have launched a manhunt against two robbers who held up in broad daylight the passengers of a South Union Liner bus as it was going through Epifanio delos Santos Avenue in Makati City,” reports Anna Liza Villas-Alavaren in Tempo.
Thankfully, with the use of the police rogue gallery, the armed robbers were identified by some of the passengers as Robin Orbeta and Aaron John Penaflor.
According to Chief Inspector Reycon Garduque, head of the Makati Police Criminal Investigation Division, “the suspects are members of the Anover-Abraham/Katipunan robbery-holdup group based in Mandaluyong City.”
The suspects had boarded the bus bound for Alabang and pretended to be passengers. Before reaching Buendia that morning, the robbers, who were armed with a gun and a knife, declared their intentions. They then proceeded to take the belongings of the passengers. The two robbers got off the bus and crossed EDSA.
Police said the group to which Orbeta and Penaflor is involved in other robbery cases in Mandaluyong and Quezon City. They have been arrested but were able to post bail.
Just how much is the bail being demanded? Maybe it’s time to get tougher on these criminals.
