Two men posing as Quezon City government employees were arrested on Friday for allegedly extorting money from a gasoline station personnel.
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Senior Superintendent Richard Albano identified the suspects as John Francis Aguilar, 22; and Bernardino Buhay, 33, The two allegedly posed as employees of the city government’s environmental protection and waste management department. The former even used the ID of a real city hall employee, Ted Michael Cruz.
The two tried to extort PHP6,000 from Carolina Rayos, an accounting staff of Phoenix gasoline station along Roosevelt Avenue. They claimed that the gasoline station was operating with an expired permit. The real Ted Michael Cruz also appeared at the police station and filed a complaint against the suspects for using his name in their illegal activities, the Philippine Star reported.
