2 men arrested for selling child porn at coffee shop in BGC

Mark Lester Manas, 28, and Regie Arevalo, 29, are now facing charges for violating Republic Act No. 9775 or the Anti-Child Pornography Act of 2009.

On Tue, Mar 1, the two men were arrested for allegedly selling pornographic materials featuring children during a sting at a coffee shop in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.

“Manas and Arevalo were apprehended after they received PHP30,000 in marked money and turning over a flash disk containing the pornographic material to an undercover agent of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) anti-cybercrime unit,” reports Ghio Ong in The Philippine Star.

The NBI also revealed that the two men would also invite their clients, mostly foreigners, to fly to the Philippines for “sex tours involving children.”

The report noted: “Prior to the bust, international law enforcement agencies coordinated with the NBI to trace the two suspects, identified as ‘sexual predators based in the Philippines,’ early last year.”
