2 jeepney robbers killed in shootout vs. cops

We can’t help but think, “Good riddance!”

“Two still unidentified men who robbed a passenger jeepney died after an encounter with police along Quezon Avenue early Tuesday, Feb 25,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.

Two two dead suspects had another companion when they declared the robbery in the jeepney as it passed Banawe.

The report quoted Supt. Victor Pagulayan, station commander of QCPD Station 11, who revealed that “the suspects were alighting from the jeep when they were chanced upon by roving policemen.”

Rattled by the presence of the cops, the suspects fired shots at them. A shootout ensued, killing two of the suspects on the spot. Unfortunately, the third man was able to flee with the victims’ belongings.

The incident marked the fifth jeepney robbery in the area since August 2013.
