Two people died while two others were injured in a shooting incident in a Cebu City coffee shop earlier today.

The incident happened past midnight at the Good Cup Coffee Company along F. Ramos St., in Barangay (Village) Cogon Ramos, Bombo Radyo reported.

The coffee shop employees were about to close up for the night when an unidentified assailant wearing a motorcycle helmet barged in and opened fire on them, according to Radyo Inquirer.

The coffee shop owner, identified as John Michael Hermoso, 25, died on the spotSunstar reported. The cashier, identified as Katie Ramos, 21, was rushed to the nearby Velez Hospital, but attending doctors said she died even before reaching the emergency room, according to Cebu Daily News reported.

The two others who were injured were identified as waiter Jerome Amada and cashier-barista Sherwin Rivera.

There was an unidentified fifth worker at the coffee shop who was unharmed and rushed to the Ramos Police Station to report the shooting incident. Police arrived within minutes but the gunman was already gone.

According to a witness, a man on a motorcycle stopped at a corner about 15 meters away from the coffee shop. He wore a jacket and a full-faced helmet. Authorities are still investigating the motive and will be checking the CCTV footage inside the coffee shop for more information.
