The case just got more complicated.

“The police said they initially didn’t reveal that when Rogelio Aquiat, 46, who had worked as a master cutter for slain fashion designer Kenneth Chua, was arrested on Wednesday, Mar 12, he was actually engaged in a shabu session with Caloocan City policemen PO2 Danbeth Valida Geronga and PO1 Ryan Sergio Tabudlong,” reports Niña P. Calleja in the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
Following the robbery and murder of Chua, police found out that his missing ATM card was used to withdraw PHP20,000. They then obtained security camera footage showing Aquiat as the card user.

According to the chief of the Makati police Senior Supt. Manuel Lukban, Geronga and Tabudlong were at Aquiat’s home when they came to arrest him. The two, though, tried to prevent them from arresting Aquiat. Tabudlong even drew his gun before he was overpowered by the arresting team from the Makati police.
Lukban said they deferred the announcement of the two policemen’s arrest because they wanted to know if they had also been involved in Chua’s killing. The report revealed that “Geronga was assigned to the Caloocan police headquarters while Tabudlong had been suspended from work due to drug-related charges.”
The two policemen were brought to the Makati police together with Aquiat. However Lukban said, “We are convinced that they have no connection to the killing and that they were just at the suspect’s house at the time of the arrest. We are preparing to file multiple charges against these policemen, from obstruction of justice to possession of illegal drugs and unlicensed firearms.”
Either way, it doesn’t look good for them.
