2 cops arrested for taking woman’s car, cash

There are bad cops out there.

“SPO1 Raul Palad, 49, and PO1 Manuel Fuentes, 32, both assigned at Camp Crame, were arrested for holding businesswoman Rosela Ong-Gonzales against her will and taking her car and cash as well,” reports Jeffrey Damicog in the Manila Bulletin.

According to PO3 Hermogenes Capili, investigator of the Quezon City Police District’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (QCPD-CIDU), CIDU operatives arrested the two policemen at around 3pm on Monday, Feb 10, at Palad’s home in Barangay San Roque.

Among the things seized from the suspects was a metallic orange Toyota Vios with conduction sticker TX6916 belonging to Ong-Gonzales.

The two bad cops had reportedly accosted Ong-Gonzales over the weekend and insisted that the Vios was a stolen car. They threatened her with detention. They subsequently demanded that she give them another car and cash so that they would let her go free.

The incident happened on Sunday, Feb 9. Ong-Gonzales sought the QCPD’s help in nabbing the suspects the following day.
