2 casualties died of heart attack in ‘Forever Summer’ concert

The National Bureau of Investigation says two of the five ‘Forever Summer’ concertgoers died because of a heart attack, but it still needs two days to determine what made their blood pressure shoot up to 240 and if drugs were involved.

Felicisima Francisco, executive officer of the NBI’s chemistry division confirmed that Lance Garcia, 36, and Bianca Fontejon, 18, both suffered from high blood pressure, causing their hearts to rupture, reports Philippine Daily Inquirer.

Health Secretary Janette Garin said that she is waiting for specimen, like a cup of the drink the victims consumed, to be submitted to the Department of Health for testing. However, she doubts that there is enough sample for a conclusive result.

On social media, unverified reports are circulating that the casualties ingested drug-laced drinks, but the police said that it was too early to jump to conclusions.

Garin noted that the symptoms exhibited by the casualties like palpitations, loss of consciousness and heart attack were more indicative of drug use than on dehydration.

Earlier, the family of one of the victims, 22-year-old Ariel Leal refused to subject his body to an autopsy. Authorities are still getting permission from the families of the two remaining vicitms.
