It’s disturbing to know that the two criminals were supposedly members of a group founded by a former police officer.
“Two men—believed to be members of a carjacking group—were killed by police in Quezon City in the early hours of Thursday, July 24,” reports ABS-CBN News correspondent Kori Quintos on ABS-CBNnews.com.
According to Senior Inspector Rolando Lorenzo Jr., head of Quezon City Police District’s Anti-Carnapping Unit, the two slain suspects belonged to the Poquiz Carnapping Group.
The said carnapping group was led by a certain Jay Rowan Poquiz, a police officer who had gone AWOL.
The suspects got cornered by undercover policemen who pretended to be buyers of a stolen motorcycle. However, the two men probably sensed that it was a set-up so they fled.
The cops went after the suspects, who drew their guns and fired at them. The police fired back and ended up killing the two men.
