2 Bilibid inmates dead after stabbing incident

Crime continues behind bars.

“On Tuesday, November 18, two inmates — identified as Enrico Maglasang and Arestedes Lucero — died after they stabbed each other inside the maximum security compound of the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.

According to NBP spokesperson Supt. Celso Bravo, Maglasang and Lucero were both members of the Batang Cebu gang and were detained at the 13-C Dormitory.

The report noted: “Authorities said Lucero was the first to attack Maglasang using an improvised ice pick after the latter asked him to pay his debts. Maglasang then fought back and also stabbed Lucero. Other inmates also joined in and mauled Lucero.”

Maglasang and Lucero died while receiving treatment at the NBP hospital.

The investigation is ongoing.
