This is an explosive scenario that everyone in the country should be aware of.
“Two alumni of the University of the Philippines-Extension Program in Pampanga (UPDEPP)—who were identified as Guiller Cadano and Gerald Salonga—were arrested last Saturday in Nueva Ecija for their alleged links to the New People’s Army (NPA),” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.
The report said that a team of soldiers and policemen were in Barangay T.L. Padilla in Carrangalan town in order to serve an arrest warrant for a certain Alias Omeng.
Instead, the soldiers and cops saw Cadano and Salonga and arrested them because they thought they were NPA members.
But the report noted that “the families of the two students insist that two were only in the area to conduct activities aiding the local farmers.”
Meanwhile, youth group League of Filipino Students (LFS) branded the arrest of the two as an “abduction.”
According to the LFS, they knew that Cadano and salonga “were forced to lie on the floor, blindfolded, and then forced to admit being members of the NPA.”
