An 18-year-old domestic helper in Tondo, Manila — who is identified only as ‘Eda’ — allegedly aborted her six-week-old baby last Tue, Feb 10.
“Initial investigation by SPO2 Jonathan Bautista of the Manila Police District Crimes against Persons Section revealed that Eda was taken to the Ospital ng Tondo at around 5 a.m. that day after she experienced severe stomach pain,” reports Rachel Joyce E. Burce in Tempo.
At the hospital, it was discovered that Eda was six weeks pregnant and that the baby in her womb died. Eda later confessed that she deliberately took Cytotec, an abortifacient pill.
Eda only said that the father of her unborn baby was a fellow native of Eastern Samar.
The report didn’t say if a case would be filed against Eda.
