No matter how many times we read about senseless crimes, we still get shocked.
“After watching a dance contest in Sta. Mesa, Manila, on Saturday night, Jan 18, 18-year-old pedicab driver Jay-ar Lagmay was attacked by three men, who were also part of the audience,” reports the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
The report cited SPO2 Milbert Balingan of the Manila Police District homicide division, who revealed that “the suspects and victim had just finished watching a dance contest when they got into an argument.” That was already around 2:30am on Sunday, Jan 19. The three men cornered Lagmay, who was already on his way home, on Bacood corner Bataan Streets. One of the men ended up stabbing Lagmay in the chest.
The perpetrators quickly fled the scene. Lagmay was rushed to a nearby hospital but he died while doctors were attempting to treat him.
